It is possible to factory reset the NLSS Decoder in the event it is no longer responsive through the user interface, or in the event the user has lost the user credentials.

Hardware Affected: DC400, DC400-2
Software Affected: 3.0.00000 and above

How to factory reset the NLSS Decoder

Shut the NLSS Decoder down by pressing and releasing the power button.  The unit will shut down after approximately 30 seconds.

Connect a digital monitor (HDMI or DVI) to the decoder.  Do not use an analog monitor (vga) with an adapter, as this will likely not work.

 Connect a USB Keyboard.

Power the unit on by pressing and releasing the power button.  After approximately 3 minutes, you should see a NLSS Logo.

Press ctrl-alt-F6 and you will be present with a login prompt

Enter “supportâ€ for username and “nlss123â€ for the password.

You will be presented with another screen that gives a number of options, like the following

Please choose one of the following options:
1--Show local IP Address
2--Enable/disable ssh
4--Display software version
5--Initiate Check Update
6--Initiate NLSS Support Session
7--Close all NLSS Support Sessions

Choosing option 3 will initiate a factory reset.  The decoder will reboot through this process and will come back up reset.  Keep in mind that by default, the unit will now be looking for a DHCP server to get an IP address.  At this point, follow normal quick start procedures to discover and configure the decoder.  An article describing this can be found at this link.
