Using supported Mercury Controllers is relatively a simple setup procedure when connecting and configuring with the Next Level Gateway Security System. Being that the gateway and controllers communicate over a network, it is crucial that you have the network settings correctly configured on both devices in order for proper discovery and connection.

The steps below will guide you through the process of resetting the Mercury controllers network settings to the default address in case you run across any complications during the setup.

 Hardware Affected: EP1501, EP1502
Software Affected: All

Resetting Mercury Controller to Default Network Settings

Disconnect the network cable from the ethernet port on the controller

Make sure that ALL pins on the S1 switch are to the OFF position

Move the #2 dip pin on the S1 switch to the ON position

Reconnect the network cable to the ethernet port on controller

Open a command prompt and ping the IP address

Note: Be sure to set your computers network settings to an IP of with subnet mask of in order to receive a ping response. If you do not receive a response from that IP address, then there is most likely an issue on the network that will need to be resolved before proceeding further.

Once you get a successful ping response from this IP, move the #2 dip pin on the S1 switch to the OFF position.

Open up a web browser(i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc) and in the url address field, enter the address.

Enter in the Username and Password (default = admin/password)

Configure the appropriate network settings of the controller and apply settings.
